The Arts Society West Wycombe is committed to providing enjoyable opportunities to be curious about, discover, learn about, and appreciate the fine, the decorative and the performing arts.

We are a vibrant society known for giving a warm and friendly welcome to members both old and new who are interested in delving into the fascinating and empowering world of the Arts. 

We believe that the arts are integral to what makes us human.  They are our means of communication and expression. Without them, we impoverish ourselves. 

Our History 

In 1965 the Chiltern Antiques Group was created by Patricia Fay and by 1968 11 arts societies had come together to form the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies - NADFAS.Our society was founded in 1975 and became a member society of the national group.

We soon outgrew our original home and now meet at the Village Hall in Lacey Green, near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. Our average attendance at lectures is 150. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Tea and coffee are served from 10am and the lecture commences at 10.45am finishing at 12 noon.

More recently, the national organisation decided the time was right to broaden its scope to include the performing arts and in 2017 became The Arts Society. In keeping with the response of other member societies, we also changed our name to become The Arts Society West Wycombe.
